Nearly 40 teams will be heading to Mesa, AZ for the Prospect Wire Southwest Championships 6/29-7/2.

The 17/18U Division is going to have an abundance of talent! Be on the look out for Ethan McGraw (2024 Augustana College Commit- Batters Box 18u Navy), AJ Pacheco (2024 Missouri Valley College Commit- Batters Box 18u Navy), Ben Perrott (Clackamas CC Commit- Batters Box 18u Navy), Bunche Lemau (2024 California Miramar University Commit- BIWBA 18u), Michael Orbegozo (2025 AZ Future Stars 2025), Mana Heffernan (2025 BIWBA 18u), Zane Giron (2025 BNL 17u Blue), Elijah Issa (2025 BNL 17u Red), & Mike Muniz (BNL 17U Red).

The Southwest Championships will have a number of 2026 grads looking to impress such as Sam Green (AZ T-Rex Scout Team 2025), Matt Smith (AZ T-Rex Scout Team 2025), Jerrell Alston (BIWBA 15u), Axel Akau (BIWBA 18u), Zack Breinlinger (BNL 16u Blue), Evan Messenger (BNL 16u Red), Paul Zuniga (BNL 16u Red), Ian Velasquez (BNL 17u Red), Brandon Newkirk (Marucci Athletics 2026 Thomas) & Matthew Del Carlo (Trosky Arizona 2026). 

A number of 2026's have already caught our eye at Prospect Wire events earlier this year such as:

Easton Thomas (Marucci Athletics 2026 Race) was impressive at the Prospect Wire San Diego All American ID Showcase with a 93 exit velo & got up to 87 from the OF.

Trey Parker (Major League University 18u Black):

A number of 2027 grads look to lead their teams on the diamond such as Gabe Becho-Garcia (All9baseball 2027), Jace Harrell (All9baseball 2027), Tanner Robertson (All9Baseball 2027 Navy). There will also be a number of 2027 grads returning to Prospect Wire after having successful events prior:

Carter Wacker (Marucci Athletics 2026 Race) had a great showing at the Prospect Wire San Diego All American ID Showcase with a 2.05 pop time & 80mph exit velo.

Sean McDaniels (Major League University 16u Gold):

Jayson Veit (2028- BNL 14U Blue) & Kason Crager (2028-Marucci Athletics 2028 Ponce) are a pair of big corner infielders who look to lead their teams at the plate.
