Prospect Wire is beginning to create it's Watch List for the 2025 All American Weekend, August 7-10, in Austin, TX at the University of Texas. With an entire spring's worth of players and videos to review, we begin to take a deeper look at players strongly being considered to join us in Austin at the end of this summer. Let's take a look at some of those players, as we will continue to release Watch List Candidates in the weeks to come:
2029 Knox Myers P
USA Prime Tampa 14u Bautista
Knox has a projectable frame and has plus ability on the mound. He has been clocked at 85-87 topping 88 on his fastball. On top of having plus velo for his age group his fastball has a ton of arm side run causing a lot of problems for hitters. He pairs his fastball with a 12-6 curveball that sits 69-70. His curveball is tight and is deceptive to hitters causing a lot of swing and misses.
2029 King Kenzo MIF
Arsenal
King is a twitchy athlete that consistently hits lead-off and is a terror on the bases. He’s very comfortable in the box, he has a smooth consistent load allowing him to be consistently in rhythm. King has very quick hands and a consistent bat path allowing him to make loud contact on a regular basis. Defensively he’s usually resides at shortstop and has plus range with good instincts. He has good footwork with a smooth transition consistently making the routine plays.
2029 Ian Robinson C
Natty Boys 14u
Ian is a high IQ player who instills confidence in his pitchers when he’s behind the plate. He has athletic movements and is an elite receiver and blocker helping control the run game and steal strikes. He has good footwork, a quick transition, and makes strong accurate throws, throwing out runners on a regular basis. Offensively he usually hits in the middle of the order. He has a tall open setup with a calm smooth load with good barrel control. He has a good all field approach and knowledge of the strike zone.
2029 Joey Speary C/INF
Manatee Jaguars
Joey is a strong twitchy athlete that can do a bit of it all defensively. Behind the plate he has good footwork and can make all the throws. In the INF he has soft hands and good footwork paired with plus range. Offensively Joey has plus hand eye coordination making consistent loud contact from fouls pole to foul pole. He has an open setup with a smooth rhythmic load allowing him to be on time and adjust to off-speed. He was a constant extra base hit threat all spring.
