Prospect Wire West Coast Championships Recap

Our Prospect Wire West Coast Championships came to a conclusion earlier this week as we crowned three champions across the high school divisions. It was the Nomadic Baseball program that walked away as Champion in all three divisions.

The West Coast Championships had some great individual performances from the Nomadic program from the following players who were named MVP & Most Valuable Pitcher of their age group:


15U MVP: Payton Holinka who went 6 for 13 on the event with 2 doubles & 7 RBI. He came through in the clutch on the final day of the event going 3 for 5 with 3 RBI. Holinka also did the job on the mound with 7 shutout innings pitched & 12 strikeouts.


15U Most Valuable Pitcher: Dame Jochumsen threw 5 innings allowing only 2 hits while striking out 7.


16U MVP: Dillon Moore impressed at the plate for Nomadic Baseball going 9 for 16 with 3 doubles, 1 triple, 7 RBI, & 7 runs scored. Moore really impressed our staff all week long!


16U Most Valuable Pitcher: Sawyer Palevsky was phenomenal on the mound with 5 perfect innings as he struck out 7.


17/18U MVP: Carter Skrypik had a great final day of the event going 3 for 4 with a double, 2 runs, & an RBI while also walking twice with a HBP. Skrypik was an on base machine as his team went to victory.


17/18U Most Valuable Pitcher Jaxson Schattenberg was dominant his last day of the event as he went 5 shutout innings, allowing 4 hits, and walking none.



The above players were not the only ones to show out this week as we had a number of others who were top performers such as the following:

Berkeley Kaiser of the Nomadic 17u was 7 for 14 on the weekend with 2 doubles, 4 runs scored & 3 RBI.

Hudson Droz of Nomadic 15u was 11 for 16 with 7 runs scored, 6 RBI, & a double.

Kane Dobson of AZ Future Stars Red was 5 for 9 with a double & a triple including 5 runs scored.

Jorge Roman of Angels White went 6 Innings with 2 hits allowed, 0 runs, & 14 strikeouts. Roman impressed with a fastball that was 85-86 top 88 with a curveball that showed tremendous depth at 71-73.

Jax Minnis of AZ Sandlot 17u was 5 for 12 on the weekend with 4 doubles, 6 runs scored, & 4 RBI.

Derek Wilson of Biscuits Gale went 5 for 10 with a double, triple, & homerun with 4 RBI & 8 runs scored. Wilson also impressed on the mound when he jumped on the mound sitting 83-86.

Ivan Lopez of the Hit Dogs had a good tournament with 4 hits including a double & triple.

Troy Tewers of Marucci Athletics Sting went 7 for 13 with a 5 RBI, & 3 runs scored.

Easton Wilsford of Paladin Baseball went 5 for 14 with a triple & homerun along with 2 runs & 5 RBI.

Evan Winton of the Zinger Prospects went 5 for 9 with 2 doubles, a triple & 5 RBI.
