Marathon

Coach Joey Gonzalez and his Marathon Dolphins will look to build upon their 18-6 record from last season as this year they hope to make a run at the Rural State Championship. The Dolphins will return a good portion of their lineup from last season, but they will need to see their pitching step up to fill the gap left by 2024's ace Dylan Ziels (Palm Beach State).

The Dolphins will lean on Seniors Mason Thornton (2025 RHP), Gavin Leal (2025 1B/RHP), Gabriel Leal (C), Bryan Broche (2025 CF/3B), and Leo Mendez (2025 RF/C). They expect two new contributors to also step up in a big way in Dylan Williams (2027 RHP/SS) and Tiago Rivero (2026 OF). 

The Dolphins pitching staff will be deep as they have 4 arms that Coach Gonzalez can go too with Mason Thornton (31.1IP, 38Ks, 3.80ERA), Gavin Leal (13IP, 15K, 2.69ERA), Gabriel Leal (29.2IP, 24K, 2.60ERA), and Dylan Williams who had limited time last year but has a fastball in the low-mid 80s. Offensively the Coach Gonzalez needs to replace 2 starting outfielders but likes what his heart of the order will look like. The Dolphins return Gabriel Leal (.423, 33H, 8 Doubles, 30RBI) and Mason Thornton (.339, 21H, 22R, 21RBI) who will look to have repeat success this year with the bat.
