Prospect Wire 2025 Florida High School Team Outlook:
Jefferson Dragons
The Jefferson High School Baseball team is coming off of 19-8 where they won their district and hosted a Regional Game. Coach Spencer Nunez graduated 9 seniors from the 2024 class, but Coach Nunez is excited about the young talent that his program will have in his 4th season with the Dragons.
The 2025 Dragons will look to Seniors JaMarques Benton (2025 OF, FAMU), Isiah Fernandez (2025 MIF), and Nate Brewer (2025 C) to provide his program some leadership. Fernandez (.350 with 10SBs) and Benton (.272 with 19SBs) look to return to their spots at the top of the order. Look for a few new faces to be key contributors for Coach Nunez squad as well such as Kaiden Johnson (2026 RHP/C), Ethan Savinon (2027 RHP/INF), and AJ Lee (2028 OF). Look for Johnson and Savinon to help fill the void left on the mound as the Dragons graduated 4 of their top 5 pitchers in terms of Inning Pitched. Our staff got to see Johnson showcase his talents at the Top Tier Roos tryout in December and he really impressed as a 2-Way talent.
Jefferson will now compete in FHSAA 3A District 9 along with Chamberlain, King, McKeel, Robinson, and Tenoroc. District Champions in 2023 and 2024, Jefferson will look to make it three district championships in a row. In order for that to happen look for them to rely on their team speed and young talent to carry them throughout the season!
