2026 NextGen Spring Kickoff Preview


Prospect Wire continues its spring campaign this weekend with the NextGen Spring Kickoff in our Central Florida home of Polk County. Featuring 28 teams across the 13u and 14u divisions from all over the great state of Florida, this event once again brings together some of the most promising young talent in the region. Historically, the Spring Kickoff has been a proving ground for future standouts, with several players being added to the Prospect Wire All-American watchlist after competing in this event. This year’s field looks poised to continue that tradition, showcasing deep rosters with elite talent and teams ready to compete deep into Sunday. Here are a few teams and programs to keep an eye on as potential contenders for a deep playoff run this weekend:


 

Central Florida Pokers (Oakland, FL): The Central Florida Pokers have long been one of the most respected organizations on the Florida travel ball circuit, building a tradition of success through elite player development, strong baseball education, and meaningful exposure for athletes aspiring to compete at the next level. Their programs emphasize fundamentals, baseball IQ, and a professional approach that consistently prepares players for high-level competition. This weekend, the Pokers are sending three teams to compete in the Spring Kickoff – one in the 13u division and two in the 14u division. Each roster features the depth and talent to battle deep into the bracket and position themselves for a run on Championship Sunday.



 

Ostingers Baseball (Lithia, FL): Ostingers Baseball has built a strong reputation on the travel ball circuit for fielding highly talented, well-coached teams that pride themselves on playing the game the right way. Whenever an Ostingers squad enters a tournament, they immediately become a contenders – disciplined, fundamentally sound group that presents a tough matchup for any opponent. This weekend, the organization is sending two teams in the 14u division, and both squads appear primed to make some serious noise. With their preparation, talent, and winning mindset, both teams have the tools to battle deep into Sunday and put themselves in position to bring home some hardware.



 

Divinity Academy Kingz (Kissimmee, FL): The Divinity Academy Kingz have become a respected name on the Florida travel ball circuit, known for fielding disciplined, talented, and fundamentally sound teams. This weekend, the Kingz return to action in the 14u division, looking to build on the momentum from their impressive runner-up finish at the NextGen President’s Day Challenge. That performance showcased their depth and ability to battle through high-pressure situations against strong competition. With confidence high and experience from a deep tournament run fresh in their minds, the Kingz enter the weekend poised to make another strong push and position themselves for a deep playoff run.



 

Kangaroo Court (Palm Harbor, FL): Kangaroo Court is a well0known organization on the national travel ball circuit and regularly in Prospect Wire events, recognized for showcasing elite talent while emphasizing fundamentals and playing the game the right way. Their teams are consistently competitive, disciplined, and prepared to perform against top-tier competition. This weekend, Kangaroo Court is sending two squads into action – one in the 13u division and on in the 14u division. Following a strong showing at the President’s Day Challenge, both teams enter the tournament with confidence and momentum to make another playoff appearance.



 

FBH Angels (Southside, FL): The FBH Angles have become a respected staple on the Florida travel ball circuit and a familiar presence at Prospect Wire events. Known for their commitment to player development, they consistently field tough, gritty, and well-coached teams that compete with intensity and discipline. This weekend, the Angels are sending three teams to the Spring Kickoff – one in the 13u division and two in the 14u division. After the President’s Day Challenge, all three squads enter the weekend motivated and focused on making a deep playoff run into Championship Sunday.
