2026 NextGen President’s Day Challenge Preview


Prospect Wire kicks off its 2026 spring campaign with the NextGen Presidents Day Challenge in its central Florida home of Polk County. The annual event is consistently loaded with top-end talent, and this year’s field appears to be no exception. The tournament will feature 42 teams competing across the 13u and 14u divisions, drawing elite programs from across Florida along with three out-of-state organizations representing Georgia, New York, and Massachusetts. With such a deep and diverse field, the weekend is set up to deliver high-level competition from start to finish. Here are a few of the teams to keep an eye on as the action unfolds.


 

FBH Angels (Southside, FL): The FBH Angels are a well-known travel ball organization on the Florida circuit, having built a reputation for fielding highly talented players who are fundamentally sound and play the game the right way. This weekend, they will be sending three teams to compete in the President’s Day Challenge – one in the 13u division and two in the 14u division. All three squads are primed and ready to make a deep playoff run into Sunday.


 

Kangaroo Court (Palm Harbor, FL): Kangaroo Court is a well-known organization on the national travel ball circuit and a Prospect Wire regular. They have built a reputation for fielding well-coached teams loaded with elite talent and are always a threat to take home some hardware. This weekend, they are sending out two squads – one in the 13u division and one in the 14u division. Both teams will look to carry on the Roo’s winning tradition and make a deep run into playoff Sunday.


 

Wily Mo & Veras Dragons Scout Team (Wesley Chapel, FL): Wily Mo & Veras Dragons are a well-known travel ball organization on the Florida circuit, having built their reputation on elite talent and consistent championship contention. They are always a threat to win any event they enter. This weekend, they will send out their 14u squad, rested and ready to carry on the Dragons’ winning tradition with a deep playoff run.


 

Team Orlando (Clermont): Team Orlando is a well-known youth travel ball organization on the Florida circuit, having built a reputation for developing skilled players and providing competitive opportunities to showcase their talents. This weekend, they will send three teams into the President’s Day Challenge – two in the 13u division and one in the 14u division. All three squads are primed and ready to make a deep playoff run and bring home some hardware.


 

USA Prime (Trinity and Odessa, FL): USA Prime is a nationally recognized organization with affiliates throughout Florida, known for its commitment to player development and a strong winning tradition. This weekend, two USA Prime squads will compete in the 14u division: USA Prime Tampa 14u-American and USA Prime Tampa-Nunez 14u. Both squads are looking to kick off their spring campaign in a big way with a run to championship Sunday.


 

Flushing Marlins (New York, NY): The Flushing Marlins are a well-known New York – based travel ball organization that has built a reputation for well-coached teams and elite player development. This marks the second straight year the Marlins have made the trip south to compete in the President’s Day Challenge. After an early exit in 2025, this 14u squad will look to turn the tide and make a deep run into Championship Sunday.


 

NE Mariners (Tewksbury, MA): The NE Mariners are a travel ball organization based along the Seacoast of New Hampshire, having built a strong reputation for player development, passion for the game, and preparing athletes to compete at the next level. This weekend, they will send their 13u team south to compete in the President’s Day Challenge. The Mariners are rested and eager to showcase their skills with a deep playoff run into Sunday.
