2025 SOUTHEAST CHAMPIONSHIPS
After a record setting Memorial Weekend Classic that saw over 100 teams come to Polk County, the summer is off and running and Prospect Wire heads down to Palm Beach County for its longest running event, the Southeast Championships. The event is in its 16th year, with 2020 being the only year since 2009 the event has not been run. With over 35 teams in action this weekend at CACTI Park, let’s take a look at some of the teams to watch:
TOP TIER ROOS (Palm Harbor, FL): The Roos are the 2nd winningest program in PW history, and they are coming off 2 division championships at the Memorial Weekend Classic last weekend. After taking home the 14U & 17U division titles, the Roos are headed down to Palm Beach with a grand total of 18 overall championships (2nd to NLB with 21). Headlining their entries are the Top Tier American Red team, who is the defending 16U champions of this event. They are back to defend their title in the 18U/17U division in 2025. But do not sleep on their 2027 National team, as they are coming to see if they can keep the 16U division title in house.
SOUTH FLORIDA BANDITS (Orlando, FL): Coming off and 18U division championship at the Memorial Weekend Classic, the heavily loaded SF Bandits squad will have 2 teams at this weekend’s event in Palm Beach. Going a combined 9-1 last weekend in Polk County, the weekend ended with the Bandits claiming their 5th overall PW title. They are the defending 18U champs at this event, and they are a heavy favorite to become the 1st back to back division champion since Blueprint won the 14U division 2 years in a row in 2022-2023.
IS ELITE (Wellington, FL): While IS Elite as an organization is new the to Prospect Wire tournament scene, Jovon Edwards has been bringing top level talent to PW events for many years now. Locally based in the Palm Beach area, IS Elite made a name for themselves in 2024 with a very strong organizational showing. They are back in 2025 with 5 teams overall, with 1 in the 14U division and 4 in the 15U/16U division. This weekend will be IS Elite’s first action of the summer. We are excited to see how they come out of the gates.
VIPERS BASEBALL (Palm Beach Gardens): Vipers Baseball is one of the longest tenured Prospect Wire organizations in the state of Florida. An 11 time PW Baseball champion, the Vipers have shown particular dominance on the east coast of Florida, with many of their titles coming in that area. They are known for having tough, gritty teams that are always a threat to make a playoff run. With 5 teams in the event between 14U, 16U & 18U, they are sure to have something to say about who will be the last one standing.
LEGACY BASEBALL (Bradenton, FL): After a strong showing at the Memorial Weekend Classic, going 2-1-1 against some really stiff competition, Legacy Baseball is ready to make a deep run in this year’s Southeast Championships. Watch out for them to make a sleeper run in this year’s playoff.
