Prospect Wire wraps up its summer circuit with one of its most anticipated events of the year: The National Championships, held in Port Charlotte and Sarasota, Florida. Known for attracting elite talent and serving as a proving ground for future Prospect Wire All-Americans, this tournament consistently delivers high-level competition, and 2025 is no exception. This year’s event features 78 teams from across the county, including powerhouses from Tennessee, Texas, New York, and Florida. Here are a few standout teams/programs to keep an eye on throughout the week:
Blues (Cottontown, TN): The Blues organization is bringing a strong presence to this year’s National Championships, sending six teams spanning the 13u-17u divisions. Known for their fundamentally sound, hard-nosed style of play, the Blues are respected name on the travel ball circuit and are always a tough out come playoff time. After capturing the 2024 16u National Championship, the Blues return to Florida looking to defend their title and add more hardware in 2025. With depth across all age groups and a culture built on grit and execution, don’t be surprised if multiple Blues teams make deep runs this week.
Blueprint Baseball (Murfreesboro, TN): Blueprint Baseball has built a strong reputation for its elite player development and well-coached, competitive teams. This week, Blueprint is sending two squads, one in the 16u division and one in the 17u division-both of which have the tools to make a serious run. With their reputation for peaking when it matters most, don’t be surprised to see both teams making noise come playoff time. Blueprint has 1 PW National Championship to their credit, winning the 14U division back in 2021.
Texas Republic Baseball-Derner (Little Elm, TX): Texas Republic Baseball is a nationally respected program known for its elite talent and a proven track record of developing players for the next level. Whether it’s their competitive edge or commitment to exposure, Texas Republic consistently shows up on the biggest stages. This week, the Derner led squad is headed to the National Championships looking to make a statement. With a loaded roster and something to prove, this team has its sights set on bringing some hardware back to Texas. Will they become the first team from Texas to take home the PW National Championship ring?
Legends (Lakeland, FL): Legends Baseball is no stranger to success at Prospect Wire events, boasting a long history of winning and consistently fielding supremely talented teams. Year after year, the Legends name is synonymous with high-level play and deep playoff runs. For the 2025 National Championships, the Legends are sending a strong 6 team field, with rosters competing across the 14u through 18u divisions. With depth, experience, and top-tier talent throughout the program, expect multiple Legends teams to be in the thick of the playoff race by week’s end. The Legends program can boast 3 PW National Championships, winning 16U back in the inaugural 2020 season, 18U in 2022 and most recently a 15U title in 2023.
Bay Area Show (Bradenton, FL): A Prospect Wire regular, the Bay Area Show has made a name for itself by consistently fielding competitive, well-rounded teams throughout the summer circuit. Known for their grit and ability to rise to the moment, Bay Area Show teams are always a threat to make a deep playoff run. This week, they’ll be represented by two squads-one in the 15u division and one in the 17u division-both looking to carry the organization’s tradition of strong play into championship contention in Port Charlotte and Sarasota. Their 15U squad is coming off a PW World Series title just a few weeks ago.
NLB (Tallahassee, FL): Next Level Baseball enters the National Championship as the winningest organization in PW history, with 21 titles of their own. After multiple near misses at claiming #22 at the PW World Series earlier this month, they’re bringing a strong five team lineup, with rosters in the 14u through 18u divisions-all loaded with talent and hungry to add to the program’s storied legacy. With a proven formula for winning and a relentless approach, NLB will be a force across every bracket this week. 2 of NLB's championships have come at this event, along with both of their satellite programs in Central FL & North Carolina. ***NOTE - The NLB organization has won 23 titles overall, with NLB Central FL & NLB North Carolina each having won an event.***
South FL Bandits 18u (Orlando, FL): The South FL Bandits 18u squad has been on a tear this summer, racking up wins and asserting themselves as one of the top teams on the Prospect Wire circuit. Known for their elite talent, strong coaching, and winning culture. After winning the 2024 National Championship, this year’s team returns to defend their crown and chase what would be their third PW championship of the summer. With momentum on their side and a roster built to win, the Bandits are once again a team everyone will need to go through to take home the title.
Florida Elite (Newberry, FL): Florida Elite Baseball is a nationally recognized program built on elite competition, skill development, and college exposure. This week, Florida Elite is sending two squads to the National Championships; one in the 14u division and another in 15u. Both teams are looking to make a statement and defend their programs 2024 14u National Championship title.
