Prospect Wire Central Florida Showdown Event Preview: Players & Teams to Watch

Nearly 100 teams will head to Polk County, FL as the Prospect Wire Central Florida Showdown will be taking center stage 10/5 & 10/6. This is our biggest fall event of the year & our staff is beyond excited to see the talent on the field!

We have a number of Prospect Wire All Americans making their PW return this weekend such as:

Alex Mendoza 2026 (PSL Paulies 18u): Mendoza left the Prospect Wire All American Weekend with a ton of buzz as he impressed all weekend long. Mendoza earned MVP for the 2026 All American group & clearly cemented himself as one of the best players in the 2026 class.

Jax Kohler 2029 (Top Tier Roos 2027 National): Kohler impressed all summer long reaching base safely 25 times throughout a number of Prospect Wire events. Kohler earned himself an invite to the Prospect Wire All American Weekend where he performed very well.

Felix Jimenez 2026 (PSL Paulies 18u): Jimenez was one of the standout players from our Prospect Wire All American Weekend at Vanderbilt University. Jimenez was the HR Derby Runner Up & just oozes projectability.

Austin Anderson 2028 (R3 Baseball 2028): Anderson is a very projectable 2 way player as he showed our staff in Nashville at the Prospect Wire All American Weekend. Anderson is a polished LHP & a lefty bat with power potential.

Kase Nickerson 2028 (Florida Elite Baseball 15u): Nickerson makes his PW return this weekend after a nice showing in the Prospect Wire All American Weekend. Nickerson will look to pick up where he left off as he impressed our staff at a number of Prospect Wire Showcases & Tournaments this year.

We have a ton of players who have made a name for themselves at other Prospect Wire events this year such as:

Hunter Tarchalski 2025 (NLB American): Tarchalski showcased an electric fastball at the PW National Championships topping at 91mph. Tarchalski is a legitimate 2 way prospect as he also picked up 16 hits while reaching base safely in 14 of his 16 PW games this summer.

Brandon Bell 2027 (Freshwater Storm Underclass 16u American): Bell had a great summer at PW events with 5 hits at the plate & picking up 2 wins on the mound compiling 12 IP allowing only 3 Runs. Bell also impressed at the Freshwater Storm PW Scout Day just a few weeks ago!

Ryker Hall (2028 Freshwater Storm Underclass 16u National): Hall showed very well both defensively & with the bat. Hall really handles his pitching staff with great poise & demeanor.

Trindon Baker 2029 (LBI Swarm 14u Lamacchia): Baker impressed earlier this Spring with great command on the mound & above average FB velo for his age. We are looking forward to seeing the improvements he's made since we last saw him.
