Memorial Weekend Classic Day 2 Recap

Day 2 of the Prospect Wire Memorial Weekend Classic got off to a great start! The weather was hot, but there were a few players & teams who really caught fire on Day 2 impressing our staff with their standout performances. 


The following teams dominated through Pool Play to start the tournament & currently sit at 3-0.

Our 13U Division Playoffs got underway late Saturday afternoon. Florida Premier Baseball, Orlando Bandits 13u, SBA Clubhouse 2029, & Wow Factor 13u all secured their spot in the Semifinals which will begin Sunday morning at NERP on Field 1.

Brennan Jones (2027) only had one game today, but he made the most of it going 3 for 3 with a pull side triple to the wall. Jones came in to the weekend as a Prospect Wire All American Watchlist candidate & did enough the first two days to earn himself an official invite to the Prospect Wire All American Weekend.



Wesley Anderson (2026) from Knights Knation Florida impressed our staff as he screams projectability. The 6'3 RHP was 83-86 & showcased a sharp biting slider that gave right handed hitters trouble all day. To lefties Anderson worked in with his fastball & paired it with a plus changeup that was 74-76. He finished with a line of 5 IP, 3H, 6K, 1R.



Easton Beach (2025 University of South Florida Commit) from the Lakeland Hawks had himself a day at Lake Myrtle. The slick fielding shortstop impressed with his quick feet and smooth actions. He also got the job done at the plate with 2 extra base hits on the day.



Brock Budreau (2027) from Knights Knation Florida had a great showcase showing on Friday night earning himself an invite to the Prospect Wire All American weekend. He continued his strong play again Saturday as he had a nice back side 2RBI single in the first inning of their 1st game today.



Anthony Iatarola (2027) of the Lakeland Tigers had himself quite the afternoon. He went 3 for 6 on the day with 2 doubles at the plate. He also dominated on the bump going 5 innings, allowing only 1 run on 4 hits with 9 strikeouts.



Micah Page (2026) of Knights Knation got the job done behind the dish in his first game throwing out 3 would be base stealers. He also swung a hot stick all day today as he went 4 for 5 with a double, triple, & 6 RBI.



JJ Baysinger (2025) of Florida Panthers 17U had himself a day at the plate as the Panthers went undefeated through Pool Play. Baysinger was 5 for 6 on the day with a double & 2 RBI.



Bradley Roberts (2028) of TBT Flex had a great start to the morning going 2 for 2 with an Inside-the-Park Home Run & 4 RBI.
