Memorial Weekend Classic Day 1 Recap

Day 1 of the Prospect Wire Memorial Weekend Classic got off to a great start! There were a few players & teams who really shined on Day 1 impressing our staff with their standout performances.

The following players went off on Friday & will look to stay hot on Day 2, Saturday:


Igancio Yanez (2026) from Arbelo Baseball 2026 got the job done at the plate & on the mound for his squad. Yanez showcased advanced bat to ball skills picking up 3 hits on the day including this triple.

Niko Bates (2024) of North Florida Elite impressed on the mound going 5 Innings with 7 Strikeouts leading his team to victory while also driving runs in at a high rate with 4 RBI.

Ian Robinson (2029) of Ostingers 13U Davis got the job done at the plate with a Triple & Inside-the-Park Homerun to lead the Ostingers to an undefeated day.

2023 Prospect Wire All American, Rylan Beumel (2027), showed why he earned the invite to Vandy last year by starting off his 2024 Summer Season on fire. Beumel picked up 3 hits on day one, including a triple, while reaching base 2 other times via walk & HBP. Beumel came around to score 4 runs while driving in a pair of his own.

Robert Chacin (2026) of HR-14 2026 impressed on the mound as he went 4 innings while striking out 9 and allowing no hits on the day.

Speaking of no hits, Miguel Allegri (2025), of the South Florida Bandits 18u squad finished off a 7 inning complete game no hitter. Allegri was dominant as he went on to strike out 13 in route to a victory for his team.
