Central High School Team Outlook

Prospect Wire 2025 Florida High School Team Outlook:

Central

Coach Al Sorrentino expects his 2025 Central HS Baseball team to be his best in recent history. The Bears will return 6 of their top 7 offensive players from last season and over 113 innings worth of pitching on the mound. The Bears expect to be in the hunt for the 4A-6 District title when all is said in done. The Bears haven't been to the district title game since a heartbreaking loss in 2022 to Hernando HS.

The Bears return Seniors Jayden Warren (2025 SS), Korbin Baskind (2025 LHP/OF), Ryan Engley (2025 RHP/1B), and Tristan King (2025 RHP/UTIL) from last year's team. Also look for Freshman Noah Sanchez (2028 RHP/OF) to be a new contributor for Coach Sorrentino's team. Sanchez is a promising young arm that is in the low 80s.

In order to reach their goal of a District Title, the Bears will lean on their pitching and defense. Coach Sorrentino returns their #2 and #3 starting pitchers from 2024 as well as the entire bullpen. Look for Ryan Engley and Korbin Baskind to rekindle the fire they had in 2024 as they both had over 45k's and 34IP last season. Look for Tristan King to also play a big role on the mound after spending most of last year in the bullpen with 8 appearances and a stellar 0.62 ERA to go along with 19K's over 11.1IP. Offensively the Bears will lean on experience returners to the lineup like Jayden Warren who led the Bears in hits last season with 22.
