2026 Southwest Championships
Prospect Wire continues its West Coast circuit this weekend in Mesa, Arizona, with the Southwest Championships. A staple on the Arizona travel ball scene, this event annually attracts elite talent and some of the region’s most storied programs. Over the years, the tournament has produced numerous Prospect Wire All-Americans, and this year’s field appears poised to continue that tradition. With 17 teams competing across the 15/16u and 17/18u divisions, programs from Arizona, Texas, California, and Nevada will battle throughout the weekend for a chance to claim a Southwest Championships title. Here are a few teams and programs to keep an eye on as competition gets underway.
Marucci Athletics (Peoria, AZ): Marucci Athletics is a nationally recognized travel baseball organization that has built its reputation on developing highly talented, well-coached teams that play the game the right way. This weekend, they will send five squads to compete in the Southwest Championships, with four teams in the 15/16u division and one in the 17/18u division. After a strong showing at the San Diego Invitational, all five teams will look to carry that momentum into Mesa. With impressive depth and talent throughout the organization, each squad has the potential to make a deep playoff run and contend for a Southwest Championships title. They sit in 7th overall (2nd on the west coast) with 11 PW Championships.
Trosky Arizona 2029 Blue (Scottsdale, AZ): Trosky is a nationally recognized travel baseball organization with affiliates across the country. The program has built its reputation on elite player development and a proven track record of preparing athletes to compete at the next level. This weekend, Trosky Arizona 2029 Blue will represent the organization in the 15/16u division at the Southwest Championships. With quality pitching depth and a dynamic offense capable of putting up runs in bunches, this squad has all the tools to make an immediate impact, put together a deep playoff run, and contend for a championship.
Nomadic 14u Signature (Gilbert, AZ): Nomadic Baseball is a well-known organization on the West Coast travel baseball circuit that has built its reputation on elite player development and preparing athletes to compete at the collegiate level. This weekend, the Nomadic 14u Signature squad will compete in the 15/16u division at the Southwest Championships. Despite playing up an age, this talented group has the depth, athleticism, and competitive mindset to make a deep playoff run. Expect Nomadic to be a team capable of making noise throughout the weekend as they look to bring some hardware back home to Gilbert. They currently sit with 6 PW Championships & with another title, will vault into a tie for 13th overall.
