Prospect Wire continues its Florida summer circuit this week with the PW World Series in one of our East Coast homes, Port St. Lucie, Florida. Year after year, this premier event attracts some of the top talent from across the Sunshine State and has served as the launching pad for numerous Prospect Wire All-Americans. The 2026 edition looks poised to continue that tradition. This year’s PW World Series features 42 teams competing across the 14u-18u age divisions, with programs traveling in from all corners of Florida to battle for a championship. Hosted at some of the Treasure Coast’s premier facilities, including the NY Mets Spring Training Complex, Lawnwood Park, and Lakewood Park, the tournament promises another week of high-level competition and standout performances. With talented rosters throughout the field and plenty of future stars set to take the diamond, here are a few teams and organizations to keep an eye on as the action gets underway.
Freshwater Storm (New Smyrna Beach, FL): Freshwater Storm is a well-known travel baseball organization on the Florida travel ball circuit and a familiar face at Prospect Wire events. The program has built its reputation on elite talent, player development, and consistently fielding teams capable of competing with anyone they face. Last summer, their 15u Hurricanes squad showcased that ability by finishing as the World Series runner-up. This weekend, Freshwater Storm will be represented by six teams, with three competing in the 15u division and three in the 17/18u division. Each roster features the depth, talent, and competitiveness to make a deep playoff run and contend for a World Series championship.
Empire Baseball (Tampa, FL): Empire Baseball is a well-known organization on the national travel baseball circuit and has built its reputation on elite talent, player development, and preparing athletes to compete at the collegiate level. Renowned for its player development and ability to produce collegiate-level talent, USA Prime has established itself as one of the premier brands in travel baseball. This week, the organization will be represented by its USA Prime Florida Upperclass squad in the 17/18u division as they look to continue the program’s winning tradition. Last summer, USA Prime captured the Prospect Wire World Series championship in the 16u division, and this year’s Upperclass team has the talent to keep that momentum rolling. With a roster featuring impressive depth, experience, and high-end ability, USA Prime Florida Upperclass enters the tournament as a legitimate championship contender and a team to watch throughout the week.
Scorpions (Winter Springs and Plantation, FL): The Scorpions are a well-known travel baseball organization on the Florida travel ball circuit and have built their reputation on elite player development, quality coaching, and playing the game the right way. Year after year, the program fields fundamentally sound teams that compete at a high level against some of the top competition in the state. This weekend, the Scorpions will be represented by two teams, one in the 14u division and one in the 16u division.
