Prospect Wire kicks off its summer circuit this weekend with the Memorial Weekend Classic in our Central Florida home of Polk County, Florida. Year after year, this tournament stands as one of the premier events of the summer, consistently attracting some of the top teams and players from across the state. The 2026 edition looks no different, as 81 teams from all over Florida will compete across five age divisions ranging from 13u to 18u. With a field this deep, fans can expect no shortage of high-level competition, standout individual performances, and tightly contested championship races. From nationally recognized programs to emerging teams looking to make a statement, the Memorial Weekend Classic is always a proving ground for some of the best talent in the region. Here are a few teams to keep an eye on as play gets underway and the chase for championship hardware begins.

 


904 Cubs (St. Augustine, FL): The 904 Cubs are a nationally recognized organization that has built its reputation on developing elite talent and fielding well-coached teams that are a threat to win every tournament they enter. Known for their consistent success and ability to compete against the top programs in the country, the Cubs have become one of the most respected organizations in the Southeast. This weekend, the organization will have two teams competing in the 17/18u division, and both squads appear poised to make deep playoff runs. With talented rosters, strong pitching, and the experience to perform in big moments, the 904 Cubs will undoubtedly be among the top contenders as they look to add another championship to their impressive resumes.


 

FBH Angels (Lakeland, FL): The FBH Angels are one of the most respected organizations on the Florida travel baseball circuit and have become a familiar presence at Prospect Wire events throughout the years. Known for fielding highly talented teams and helping players gain exposure to compete at the next level, the Angels consistently bring competitive, well-rounded rosters to every tournament they enter. This weekend, FBH will be heavily represented at the Memorial Weekend Classic with five teams in action – two in the 18u division and three in the 16u division. Legends Powered by UA (Bartow, FL): The Legends are a nationally recognized travel baseball organization and a familiar presence at Prospect Wire events. Known for their elite talent, strong player development, and commitment to preparing athletes for the next level, the organization has built a reputation as one of the premier programs in the state. This weekend, the Legends will have three teams competing at the Memorial Weekend Classic, with one team each in the 15u, 16u, and 17/18u divisions. All three squads feature deep, talented rosters and enter the tournament with high expectations. With the organization’s proven track record and the level of talent throughout each team, the Legends will be a strong contender in every age group as they look to get the summer started with a deep playoff run and a chance to play in championships on Monday.


 

Naturals (Gainesville/Williston, FL): The Naturals may be a newer organization on the Florida travel baseball circuit, but they have quickly established themselves as one of the rising programs in the state. Built on a strong foundation of player development and quality coaching, the Naturals consistently field fundamentally sound teams that are a tough matchup for any opponent they face. This weekend, the organization will have a major presence at the Memorial Weekend Classic, sending eight teams to compete across five age divisions. The Naturals will be represented by two teams in the 13u division, two in the 14u division, two in the 15u division, one in the 16u division, and one in the 17/18u division. Each roster is loaded with talent and depth, giving the organization a chance to make an impact throughout the tournament. With so many teams in action and momentum continuing to build around the program, expect the Naturals to make plenty of noise in bracket play and be a serious contender for multiple deep playoff runs as they look to kick off the summer in a big way.

This weekend, the organization will send two talented squads to the Memorial Weekend Classic, with one team competing in the 16u division and another in the 17/18u division.
