2026 Memorial Weekend Classic Player Spotlight


2031 Knox Wilson

Knox showcased a lean athletic build and proved to be a consistent offensive threat all weekend. At the plate, he displayed strong bat-to-ball skills with a mature all-fields approach that allowed him to consistently produce quality at-bats. Throughout the weekend, Knox collected 7 hits, scored 4 runs, and drove in 6 RBIs while posting an impressive 0.636 batting average. His ability to deliver offensively in key moments played a major role in helping lead his team to a Gold Bracket finalist finish.









2031 Mathias Teran

Team Orlando 13u Colon

 

Mathias showcased a strong athletic build and proved he could impact the game in multiple ways. Offensively, he features an open setup with a smooth repeatable load paired with a shot violent swing that creates a ton of loud contact. Over the weekend, he collected 9 hits, scored 7 runs, and drove in 8 RBIs while posting an outstanding 0.692 batting average. At the plate, he features a simple setup with good rhythm and timing while staying in his legs well, allowing him to consistently produce loud contact. Over the weekend, Gabriel collected 7 hits, drove in 8 RBIs, and scored 8 runs while posting an impressive 0.636 batting average. Braxton showcased a mature strong frame that projects w2ell as a middle of the order bat. Offensively, he features a quiet consistent load paired with a mature gap-to-gap approach. His quick hands and ability to consistently create good extension through the baseball allowed him to produce a great deal of loud contact all weekend long. Over the course of the tournament, Braxton collected 9 hits, drove in 5 RBIs, and scored 4 runs while posting an impressive 0.643 batting average. His offensive production played a key role in helping lead his team on a deep playoff run.



 




2029 Luca Giacomino

AB-4 Academy 2029

 

Luca has a long lanky frame that projects extremely well on the mound. He works with a mechanically sound delivery and a quick whippy arm that points to even more velocity as he continues to develop physically. He commanded the zone consistently with a heavy fastball sitting 83-85 mph and topping out at 86, showing late arm side run and sink that made it difficult for hitters to square up. He complimented the fastball well with a sharp 12-6 curveball at 70-72 mph that created both weak contact and swing and miss potential by changing eye levels effectively. In the 15u championship game, Luca turned in a strong outing, tossing 3.2 innings while striking out 3 and helping set the tone on the mound for his team.



 




2028 Jayden Estevez

Central Florida Bad Boyz

 

Jayden has a big strong frame that projects extremely well both on the mound and at the plate. Offensively, he works with a quiet controlled load that consistently keeps him on time. He has a short compact swing with a strong balanced base and consistently gets good extension through the baseball, allowing him to generate both hard contact and power. Over the weekend, he collected 3 hits, scored 3 runs, and swiped 4 bags while also producing several loud outs throughout the weekend. On the mound, Jayden was even more impressive. He works downhill with a quick arm that generates plus velocity for his age group with even more potential still to come. In the 15u championship game, he showcased an impressive three-pitch arsenal featuring a fastball sitting 86-87 mph and topping out at 89, a sinker at 82-84 with heave late life, and a sharp 12-6 curveball at 69-70 mph that consistently kept hitters off balance. He tossed 2.2 innings, allowed 0 earned runs, and struck out 2 in a dominant championship performance.



 




2029 Phoenix Thomas

Central Florida Bad Boyz

 

Phoenix is an athletic catcher with plenty of offensive upside and the ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball. Behind the dish, he shows good footwork along with a strong accurate arm that allows him to control the run game effectively. Offensively, he works from a simple setup with good rhythm and timing, and his combination of speed and power makes him a constant threat every time he steps into the box. Over the weekend, Phoenix collected 5 hits, including an inside-the-park home run, drove in 9 runs, and scored 3 while posting an impressive 0.500 batting average. He also contributed on the mound, tossing 3 innings while allowing 3 hits. Phoenix’s all-around performance helped lead his team to a 15u championship finish and earned him MVP honors.

Deniel is a strong athletic catcher who proved to be a threat on both sides of the ball throughout the weekend. Behind the plate, he receives and blocks well while showcasing a strong accurate arm that allows him to control the run game and help steal strikes for his pitching staff. Offensively, he works with a smooth repeatable load and a short compact swing, showing good bat-to-ball skills and a mature gap-to-gap approach that keeps him consistently on time and producing solid contact. Over the weekend, Deniel collected 6 hits, scored 3 runs, and drove in 3 while posting an impressive 0.545 batting average. His two-way performance played a major role in leading his team to a 16u championship finish and earned him MVP honors.



 




2027 Hunter Carbaugh

FBH Angels 16u Red

 

Hunter has a long frame that projects well on the mound. He works wit ha smooth, repeatable high three-quarter delivery and good tempo, allowing him to consistently fill up the strike zone with a three-pitch mix. His fastball sits 80-82 mph with late arm side run, playing effectively to both sides of the plate. He compliments it with a deceptive changeup at 72-74 mph that shows arm-side fade, and a 66-69 mph curveball that generates frequent swings and misses. In the semifinal, Hunter delivered a dominant outing, throwing 5.2 innings while allowing just one hit and no earned runs, striking out 12 batters. His performance on the mound helped propel his team to the 16u championship and earned him MVPitcher honors.



 




2027 Nicholas Genna

Nicholas has a long athletic frame that projects extremely well on the mound. He works with a free and easy delivery, consistently pitching downhill with more velocity still to come as he continues to mature and develop. He commands the zone with a plus fastball sitting 85-87 mph and topping out at 88, showing deceptive quickness with late arm-side run that makes it difficult for hitters to square up. He complements his fastball with a sharp 12-6 curveball that effectively kept hitters off balance throughout the weekend. Over the course of the tournament, Nicholas delivered 8 scoreless innings while striking out 11. His performance on the mound helped lead his team to the 17/18u championship and earned him MVPitcher honors.



 






2026 Jorge Cordova

FBH Angles 17u Red

 

Jorge has a big, strong frame that projects well to the next level on the mound. He features a quick, whippy arm and effectively uses his lower half to generate consistent power and downhill action. He fills the zone with an elite fastball sitting 84-86 mph and topping out at 88, showing bot harm side run and sink that makes it difficult for hitters to elevate. He complements it with a curveball showing good depth at 76-78 mph along with a sharp slider at 78-81 mph that keeps hitters off balance and expands the strike zone. Over the weekend, Jorge threw 4 innings while striking out 7, providing an impactful outing that helped propel his team through their playoff run.
