2025 PW Summer Classic - Tournament Preview

To wrap up the summer on the East Coast, we’re back in the beautiful city of Fort Pierce for the Summer Classic. This event will feature 51 teams across the 13u-18u divisions, with programs coming from all over Florida. Historically, the Summer Classic has been packed with talent, producing several Prospect Wire All-American invites and this year looks to do the same. Here are some teams and programs to keep an eye on throughout the week:

Top Tier East Coast (Palm Harbor, FL): Top Tier is a nationally recognized organization in the travel baseball world, known for its high-end talent and winning tradition. Top Tier East Coast is sending three teams to the Summer Classic-one each in the 15u, 16u, and 17/18u division. All three squads are poised to make a deep run this week and continue the program’s strong track record of success.

Jax Indians (Jacksonville, FL): The Jax Indians are a well-established organization known for their commitment to player development and helping athletes reach the next level. This week, they’re bringing four teams to the Summer Classic-one each in the 14u and 15u divisions, along with two squads in the 17/18u division. All four teams are looking to make a statement and add some hardware to the trophy case. The Indians are a 3 time winner of the Summer Classic, with an 18U & 16U Championship in in 2022, as well as a 16U one in 2021.

Southern Squeeze Perry/Penning 2026 (Lake Mary, FL): The Southern Squeeze are a well-known travel ball organization in Florida, recognized for their elite talent and consistent ability to make deep playoff runs. The Perry/Penning squad looks to continue its strong play after an impressive 4-1 showing at the Memorial Day Classic. They come into the Summer Classic poised for another deep run and ready to contend for a championship.

Empire Baseball (Odessa, FL): Empire Baseball is a respected organization known for its elite talent and gritty, hard-nosed style of play. This week, they’re sending both their 16u and 18u teams to the Summer Classic. The 18u squad enters with momentum, looking to defend their Prospect Wire title after winning the PW World Series last week. Meanwhile, the 16u team is focused on bouncing back and making a strong statement this week. Can Empire Baseball add to their collection and take home PW Championship #4 this week?

Freshwater Storm (New Smyrna Beach, FL): After an impressive showing last week at the World Series, The Freshwater Storm is back with 9 teams in this week's Summer Classic, 3 in each of the main divisions (15U, 16U & 18U). Mike Bakas and his crew have taken home 2 PW Summer Classic championships, including the first back in 2020, as well as last year's 16U Division. With 6 titles overall, Freshwater Storm are always a threat to make a deep run. With a talented group of teams trying to derail that goal, will the Storm be able to weather the challenge?

USA Prime (Various Cities, FL): USA Prime will have a strong showing in this week's tournament. With 2 teams coming from the northern east coast, USA Prime 2027 & 2028 Navy will be looking to make a deep run in the playoffs. After last weekend's 15U Championship, the USA Prime Florida program will be looking to bring home another title. Meanwhile, the group from South Florida will be sending 2 teams as well to the party. Will they reach the top of the mountain and take home a PW Championship this week?
